Process
Puffer is revolutionizing the Ethereum staking ecosystem with its liquid staking protocol, which emphasizes security through hardware-based slash protection. By launching a permissionless liquid staking derivative (LSD), Puffer aims to address the over-centralization of Ethereum's validator network, providing a more secure alternative to existing solutions. The decentralized governance token, PRTL, empowers the Ethereum community to vote on Puffer's future direction and benefit from the platform's growth through rewards.
This focus on decentralization and security sets Puffer apart from other staking protocols. Their technology ensures a slash-free liquid staking solution that maintains performance and scalability while solving the pressing issue of over-centralization in Ethereum's validator network.

As Puffer's branding partner, we contributed to their mission by enhancing their visual identity in the Web3 and digital landscape. We collaborated closely with the Puffer team to design a memorable logo and a visually compelling website that embodies the company’s core values of security, innovation, and decentralization. Through this process, we were able to help Puffer stand out in the highly competitive Web3 community. Our approach to branding was both collaborative and strategic. By understanding Puffer’s vision and goals, we distilled their message into a cohesive visual identity that supports their mission of decentralizing Ethereum’s staking network.
Puffer initially requested a detailed and complex logo featuring a pufferfish, which they felt reflected their brand. However, through iterations and discussions, we demonstrated that a simpler design would be more versatile and effective, especially in black-and-white formats. Although the client was hesitant at first, they were ultimately convinced of the benefits of simplicity and opted for a refined logo. The final logo design featured a minimalist pufferfish and used a gradient of purple, blue, and purple as the color scheme. This balance of simplicity and creativity effectively conveyed Puffer's brand identity while maintaining visual appeal. The design process highlighted the importance of blending client requests with design expertise to create a logo that resonates with the target audience.




After finalizing the logo, we turned our focus to designing Puffer’s website. The process began with mood boards and lo-fi mockups, leading to a polished landing page that incorporated the brand’s purple and green color palette and Heebo typeface. We emphasized user-friendliness and aesthetic appeal in the layout and design, resulting in a dynamic and vibrant website.
The client was presented with three distinct design options, and we worked closely to combine their favorite elements from each into a cohesive final design. The resulting landing page exceeded the client's expectations, effectively communicating Puffer’s values and mission to the Web3 community. Through careful collaboration and multiple iterations, we crafted a memorable and impactful digital presence for Puffer.

Following the success of our branding collaboration, we partnered with Puffer again to design the user experience for their quest campaign. This campaign was crucial for driving user engagement and promoting Puffer’s liquid staking solution. Inspired by the company's oceanic theme, we crafted a fully immersive journey that not only captivated users visually but also provided a seamless, goal-oriented experience through four interactive chapters.
Our focus was on ensuring that every step of the campaign was intuitive and easy to navigate. By simplifying the user interface, we clearly outlined the tasks and objectives at each stage of the quest. This clarity allowed users to quickly understand their "to-dos," track their progress, and stay motivated to complete the journey. By breaking down the campaign into digestible sections, we ensured that participants felt accomplished with each step, reinforcing their connection with Puffer’s brand and message.
The thoughtful UX design of the quest campaign played a significant role in helping Puffer achieve its marketing and growth objectives. By creating an engaging and accessible experience, we significantly boosted user participation and retention throughout the campaign. The immersive ocean-themed chapters and easy-to-follow steps made it enjoyable for users to engage with the content, which in turn amplified Puffer’s brand awareness and adoption in the staking community.
The campaign was a tremendous success. After its launch, Puffer surged to become the second-largest player in their sector, a testament to the power of a well-executed user experience that aligns with the company’s core objectives. The quest campaign not only enhanced Puffer's visibility but also deepened their connection with the Ethereum community, further solidifying their position as a leader in the decentralized staking space.
