Introduction
Empowering influencers and experts to monetize their knowledge, OpenAsk is a cutting-edge paid questioning platform connecting creators with their fans. Our mission was to create a seamless Q&A experience and a visually captivating brand that would resonate with a wide audience.
Process
OpenAsk introduces a unique creator economy model, allowing both people who ask questions and experts who answer to monetize their expertise. Our goals were to create a groundbreaking Q&A interaction experience, establish a novel brand visual system, and ensure adaptability across different platforms.
Brand Feeling
Understanding the founder's preference for bright yellow or neon green, we crafted a brand that exudes a fun and interactive feeling. We explored similar color schemes and developed a vibrant palette, ultimately choosing neon green. The brand communicates a sense of excitement and inclusivity, appealing to a diverse audience.
Logo and Iconography
Collaborating with the founder and the team, we designed a set of iconography that serves as a secondary logo system, adding a playful touch to the brand. The iconography reflects the dynamic nature of the platform, akin to Google's daily logo updates for special events.
Brand Guide
To maintain the brand's trendy and neon aesthetic, we created comprehensive guidelines for the internal design team. These guidelines facilitate flexibility in building brand visuals and were crucial for maintaining consistency across different design elements, including customized illustrations for marketing and the website.
Product Design for Web App
Working with neon brand colors presented a challenge in terms of accessibility on a white background. We established a design system that prioritizes accessibility for all user types while staying true to the brand's personality. The result is a web app and mobile experience that seamlessly aligns with the brand.
Design Challenge
One of our major challenges was how to rapidly connect Twitter users with Sensei for meaningful interactions within the product. We strategized ways to attract Twitter fans to OpenAsk, ensuring a smooth transition from visitor experience to registered users. This involved tailoring posts on Twitter to be more personalized and streamlining the onboarding process.
